With more than 27 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Nicole Claiborne, is Executive Director at the Mississippi Association of Community Action Agencies (MACAA) in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to joining MACAA, Nicole served as Operations Director for Social Work p.r.n. and Divisional Social Services Director for the Salvation Army/Alabama, Mississippi, & Louisiana Divisional Headquarter. She serves on the weatherization advisory council and was appointed as the low-income advocate representing the State of MS at LIHEAP Day in Washington, DC. She earned an AA degree from Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX and Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from Jackson State University. She was also a Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC-Alcohol, Drug Abuse, Mental Health Administration) scholar and a research fellow at the University of California Irvine.
